67’s drop 8th straight in 6-2 loss to Otters

Connor Brown (the other one) scored the game winning goal at the 15:27 minute mark in the first period to lead the Erie Otters to a 6-2 victory over the visiting Ottawa 67’s.  The goal sent Ottawa to their eight straight loss and are now winless on their grueling roadtrip.

The Otters powerplay was clicking as they scored on both man advantages and added another regular strength.  Jimmy McDowell opened the scoring on the powerplay while Hayden Hodgson and Brown added two quick goals late in the first.

Dante Salituro would get the 67’s on the board early in the second period.  His goal broke Ottawa’s scoreless bid at 106 minutes and 52 seconds trailing back to Sunday night’s loss in Windsor.  However, Ottawa’s luck would be short lived as JP Labardo and Kyle Pettit added two more by the end of the second period for a 5-1 Otter lead.  The 5th goal chased Jacob Blair from the Ottawa net.

Connor Crisp and Remy Giftopolous exchanged goals in the third period to round out the scoring.  The 67’s fall to 0-7-0-1 on the roadtrip.  It’s almost over, but it doesn’t get any easier.  The 67’s wrap up their road trip Sunday night in Kitchener.
