67’s blanked by Petes in 6-0 loss

Despite outscoring the Petes 21-9 in their first four games, the 67’s have now been outscored 13-4 in their last two games including their 6-0 loss in Peterborough tonight.

From the drop of the puck to the loud buzzer at the end, the Ottawa 67’s were not up to the challenge and looked lifeless for most of the game.  The 67’s were outshot 19-2 by the 15 minute mark of the opening frame.  The 67’s powered back with some scoring chances near the end but both goaltenders shut the door leaving the game scoreless after 1.

67's Stay In Eastern Dog Race With 3-2 Win Over IceDogs

67’s fall 4-3 to the Steelheads despite late surge

For the second straight game, the Ottawa 67’s nearly made a comeback in the third period; but for the second straight game, they failed to do so and another must-win game for the 67’s fell through the cracks.

After going down 3-0 early in the third period, the 67’s rallied back scoring three goals in the final 10:33 minutes of the game.  But it wasn’t enough as Damien Bourne scored the eventual game winner with just under 7 minutes left.

Fronts' Five-Goal Just Enough To Hold On

On a night where the Ottawa 67’s hit a season-low in attendance with 2,012, they showed the same offensive flare they did in the year 2012, but fell just short of a miraculous comeback on Wednesday night.

Connor Graham Adapting To Major Junior, Hopes "Floodgates Are Open" After First Career Goal

The rookie season is the most trying one for any teenager stepping into the Ontario Hockey League, but especially so having to make the adjustment from the European game to the North American one.

GAME DAY: 67's host the Bennett-less Frontenacs

The Ottawa 67’s host the sliding Kingston Frontenacs tonight before embarking on another 3-game roadtrip.  With only 8 home games remaining, the 67’s will look to make the most of their home ice advantage.

Sitting 9th in the Eastern Conference with only a 2 point lead on the Belleville Bulls (who are also in action tonight), every game down the stretch is crucial.  The 67’s only earned 2 of a possible 6 points this past weekend, all against inter-divisional opponents.  Liam Herbst earned his first start at home, but it didn’t go as well as he’d hoped.  He’ll likely get his next chance on the roadtrip coming up.

Powerplay Too Little Too Late vs. Petes

On a day where the 67’s had six powerplays, including a 5-on-3 and a five-minute man advantage, they couldn’t take advantage of their chances in a 7-4 loss to Peterborough on Sunday.

GAME DAY: 67’s host the Petes for game 5 of the season series

The 67's close out their 3-in-3 weekend with a game against division rival Peterborough Petes who sit comfortably in a playoff position, for now.  After splitting their home-and-home with the Belleville Bulls this weekend, the 67’s are still sitting 9th in the East but have narrow the gap for the final two positions.  They are 2 points behind Niagara and Mississauga but have one game in hand on Niagara and three games in hand on Mississauga.

67’s edge Bulls 2-1, split a crucial home-and-home series

After being pulled after the 5th goal in a 5-2 loss against the Belleville Bulls in Ottawa last night, Philippe Trudeau had his own redemption tonight.  Trudeau turned aside 46 of 47 Bulls’ shots in a 2-1 regulation victory; a game featuring two teams battling to make the playoffs.

Losing an important game last night, the 67’s were on a mission and drew first blood.  Ryan Van Stralen jumped on a Justin Lemcke turnover in front of the net.  He made no mistake and fired his team leading 19th goal of the season past Charlie Graham in the Bulls’ net.

Four-Goal Bradford Overshadowed By Four-Goal Belleville Third Period

GAME DAY: 67's host the Bulls for final regular season home game

The Ottawa 67’s host the Belleville Bulls for the final time this regular season.  Despite their pretty easy ride with Belleville this season, the 67’s look to gain some more space between them.  They currently sit 9th in the Eastern Conference, 4 points ahead of the Bulls but 4 points back of the Mississauga Steelheads for the final playoff spot. The good news?  The 67’s have four games in hand against the Steelheads.

67's Run Into Penalty Trouble, Hot Netminder

Spirit double up 67’s 10-5

Ten goals on forty-eight shots; not quite the debut Liam Herbst was hoping for.  After starting 27 consecutive games, 67’s overage goaltender Philippe Trudeau finally received a well-deserved night off.  The last time a goaltender started for the 67’s, without the initials P.T., was October 19, 2013 in a 6-2 loss against the Erie Otters.

Tonight was another trouncing of the 67’s by a Western opponent.  Jeremiah Addison and Andrey Alexeev each had a pair of goals and an assist in the Spirits’ 10-5 win over the 67’s.  While all ten shots were allowed by Herbst, he should not be held accountable for the majority of the goals as the game was a defensive mess for the majority of the 67’s team.

Konecny leads 67’s to an 8-3 win over the Spitfires

Despite trading away their leading scorer, the Ottawa 67’s did not struggle putting pucks in the net in an 8-3 drubbing over the Windsor Spitfires tonight.

Joseph Blandisi was a point-per-game player and led the team in scoring with 21 goals and 37 points in 37 games.  Blandisi was traded to the Barrie Colts in exchange for Erik Bradford and two 3rd round picks.  Bradford, cousin of former 67’s Jamie and Tye McGinn, made an immediate impact scoring the insurance goal and picking up an assist in his 67’s debut.  But Bradford was overshadowed by a familiar name.

Spitfires preVAIL 4-1 over the 67's

The Ottawa 67's have now lost three games in a row, and ten out of their last twelve, after being routed by the Windsor Spitfires 4-1 tonight.  Brady Vail scored twice and added two assists factoring in on all four Spitfires goals.

Vail, a prospect of the Montreal Canadiens, scored the game winner improving to 17 goals and 48 points in 38 games and is on pace to his best OHL season.

Frontenacs rally past 67's 6-5 in a shootout

It took the Kingston Frontenacs five times to come back from a deficit, but finally found a way to do it in a 6-5 shootout victory over the Ottawa 67's this afternoon.

The Frontenacs spent the first 20 minutes still waking up during the traditional New Year's Day showdown.  Joseph Blandisi beat Matt Mahalak to open the scoring one minute into the game for a early 67's lead.
