Cuma is Going to Camp!

From the Ottawa Sun:

"Senators prospect Patrick Wiercioch will not be a member of the defending champion Canadian team at this year's world junior championship tournament.

Wiercoch, who was part of the original invite list, is experiencing problems with a "pre-existing" knee injury.

Going to the team's camp in the big defenceman's place will be 67's blue liner Tyler Cuma, who was in contention for a spot on last year's squad before suffering a knee injury at the tryout camp.

Cuma, who was left off this year's list, said yesterday he is "overjoyed" at getting the invite now. "

And here's another article from TSN.

We're going to miss him but also wish him every success.

Way to go Tyler. We hope you make TEAM CANADA and do all 67's fans -- and all Canadians -- proud!

Unfortunately, Tyler Cuma woke up to an early morning phone call, and we all know that means bad news. He did not make Team Canada. Ottawa hockey fans will be happy to learn that Carp's Calvin de Haan and Sens draft pick Jared Cowen made the team. Shawn Lalonde, of Orleans, also rec'd that early morning call, and therefore, also did not make the team.

Disappointed for Tyler...would have loved to see him playing for Canada. Having him back with the 67's is the silver lining in the dark cloud however, even if it's not our first choice. All the best for the rest of the season...show them they made a mistake!
