For the second trade deadline in a row, the Ottawa 67’s have
dealt their #19 and top scorer, sending Joseph Blandisi to the Barrie Colts on
Wednesday morning.
Blandisi, who was acquired at this time last season from
Owen Sound, put up 63 points in as many games as a member of the 67’s.
In return, Ottawa picks up Erik Bradford, along with a 2015
third-round draft choice.
If Blandisi returns to Barrie as an overager, Ottawa
receives another third-rounder in 2016.
Bradford, whose cousins Tye and Jamie McGinn also played for
the 67’s, was part of Barrie’s shutdown unit alongside Brendan Bell when the
Barberpoles defeated the Colts in a 2012 seven-game series.
He’s expected to join the team for their game in Windsor on
Thursday night.
Blandisi and the Colts, on the other hand, were scheduled to face his former team in Owen Sound tonight. That game has been postponed due to weather.
He will make his Colts debut tomorrow against Erie.
