67's get revenge on Colts for home opener loss

The 67’s shut out the Colts on the road in Barrie Saturday night, taking the game by a score of 4-0.

Stepan Falkovsky took third star of the game after scoring the 67’s first goal, and assisting on the last, scored by Sam Studnicka.

The game marked Ottawa’s third win in a row, putting them at 3-3-0 so far this season.

The 67’s fell 4-0 to the Colts in their Sept. 27 home opener, a game that frustrated head coach Jeff Brown, who said at the time, the team needed to play a less selfish game.

The message seems to have been heard by the 67’s who have outscored their opponents 13-3 in the last three games.

Leo Lazarev earned top star with his first shut out of the season after stopping all 35 of the Colt’s shots, including 19 in the first period.

The lone goal in the opening frame came with just 17 seconds left when Falkovsky beat Mackenzie Blackwood, with assists going to Travis Barron and Jake Middleton.

Ottawa held the one-goal lead until just under two minutes into the third period when Nathan Todd made it 2-0 on a shot from Travis Konecny.

Dante Salituro also took home a point on the third goal for the 67's after the puck snuck past Blackwood as players scrambled in front of the net.

Ottawa now sits fifth in the Eastern Conference.

The 67’s will face off against the Attack in Owen Sound Sunday at 2pm. The game will air on Rogers 22 in Ottawa.

Ottawa’s next home game will be played at TD Arena on Wednesday, Oct. 21 against the Mississauga Steelheads.
