Former OHL leading goal scorer, Tyler Graovac suited up for
his first time after being sidelined with a lower body injury for the last 6
games. The Ottawa 67’s also receive more
relief with Mike Vlajkov returning from injury. However, it wasn’t either of those two that
stole the spotlight.
Fresh off a high ankle sprain that kept him out for four
games, Stefan Noesen score a pair of goals to lead his Plymouth Whalers to a
4-1 victory over the visiting 67’s.
Ryan Hartman opened the scoring with his 9th of
the season late in the first period extending his point streak to 7 games. Just under 3 minutes later on the powerplay,
Stefan Noesen notched his first of the game giving the Whalers a 2-0 lead after
40 minutes.
The 67’s would finally respond with a Dante Salituro goal
halfway through the game. This also
marked Dushesne’s first OHL point with an assist on the play. But Noesen would respond again with his
second of the night to regain the Whalers’ two goal lead.
Tom Wilson would round up the scoring after recording an
empty net goal late in the third.
The 67’s drop their 4th straight game and are still looking
for their first win on their grueling 9 game road trip. To make matters worse, both Mike Vlajkov and
Taylor Davis were injured in the game and did not return to finish. No word yet on how serious the injuries are.
They will look to regroup tomorrow night when they face the
also struggling Saginaw Spirit.
