Some notes on tonight's game vs the Otters. First off, all the boys will be back - Kaspar, Petruzalek, Lahey, and McGinn. I hope that Kaspar and Petruzalek are still on a 'high' from winning the Bronze, and that this translates to some great on ice spectacles reminiscent of the pre-season. Second, the two new boys will be in the line-up - Staubitz, VanderVeeken, and the not-so-new Jarram, who we really haven't seen play yet. I'm really looking forward to seeing these new additions - well, specifically Staubitz. I think that our defence is really lacking some . . . maturity - both age- and play-wise, so I'm looking forward to this OAer. And third, Hulit is a likely scratch, as he is still battling the flu.
Don Brennan has an article in the Ottawa Sun today ( 67's set sights on division title), and Killer is quoted as saying he believes this 'new and improved' team is good enough to win the division.
I'm firmly in the wait-and-see camp. The team hasn't shown that they can muster up any sort of sustained effort/winning streak. I don't see them getting through a play-off round. But, they have the new guys now, and if they come in playing like Bonello and Hulit did, well . . . maybe. I'm not going to get excited . . . yet."That's what we're hoping for," Kilrea, whose 67's enter tonight's game against the Erie Otters with 38 points and a a [sic] record one game above .500, about the possibility of catching the East Division leading Peterborough Petes (46 points).
"And I think our (conference) is wide open for everybody.
"It's going to come down to who's hot and who is injury free at the right time."
