S'more Pre-Game Notes

Schreibs was discussing the line ups and whatnot for tonight's game (vs Erie) on The TEAM 1200/Dean Brown and Gord Wilson this afternoon. (And 'Two Dorks' says it all, doesn't it? They are a couple of nutjobs. Who knew from their hockey commentary-only platform to radio show hosts persona, we've seen a whole new side to these guys. And Gord is pretty raunchy - he fit in well on the morning show, enough said. But I digress). So on tonight's game, Schreibs said:

[paraphrasing]

Spezza reporting to Lindsay; will be specifically available for call-ups, and possibly for a few games.

Killer and Bert O'Brien are pairing Staubitz (wearing number 6) with Colbert. Schreibs feels that nobody's going to be running Battochio anymore.

Hulit is out - flu bug. He may come back, actually likely he will be back for a game this w/e, because they have two more games, and tomorrow vs Peterborough will be an important divisional game.

VanderVeeken (wearing number _4? - missed it) will be on the line with Talbot.

Bickell is back with the Kaspar and Petruzalek line. Killer said it seemed to bring out the best in Bickell. A lot of people felt that he was going to be dealt at trade deadline, but Schreibs feels that Bickell has a lot of talent and needs consistent linemates. He is physical, and this gives the Czechs more room on the ice.

Need more from Kaspar. Petruzalek game-in, and game-out, is steady. Kaspar is more of a disappointment, in that he is not playing consistently. schreibs said it is too bad, as Kaspar is very talented. He needs a more physical style and needs to be more consistent.

Bonello and Mancari and Akeson will likely be together.

Schreibs thinks that Killer has improved his team. He's certainly trying to get an identity - a phsycial identity, and an energy identity. Schriebs feels that with Staubitz and VanderVeeken, the team will have this.
