ROUND ONE: Barrie Colts vs Ottawa 67s

Well, it looks like it will be the Barrie Colts for round one. They have a schedule posted on their main page, and this is how it looks:

Friday March 25 - Ottawa at Barrie, 7:30 p.m.

Saturday March 26 - Ottawa at Barrie, 7:30 p.m.

Thursday March 31 - Barrie at Ottawa, 7:30 p.m.

Friday April 1 - Barrie at Ottawa, 7:30 p.m.

The record between these two teams? Ottawa won the season, 3-1, which is certainly a positive.

The 67s have the following information up on their site:

The Ottawa 67’s will open the 2005 playoffs on the road beginning this Friday, March 25th in Barrie at 7:30 p.m. This best-of-seven series will come to Ottawa for Game 3 on Thursday, March 31st at 7:30 p.m. and Game 4 on Friday, April 1st at 7:30 p.m. All of the Ottawa 67’s home games in this opening round will take place at the Ottawa Civic Centre. This will be the second time in the history of the two teams that they have met in the post season, with the 67’s having defeated the Colts 4-1 in the 1996-1997 best-of-seven Quarterfinals. This will be first time the 67’s have not had home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs since 1991-1992.

In the four games that the 67’s and Colts faced each other this season, the 67’s had two wins at the Civic Centre and one win and one loss in Barrie. Mark Mancari (6 goals and 2 assists), Jakub Petruzalek (3 goals and 2 assists), and Brad Bonello (2 goals and 3 assists) led the way offensively for the 67’s in the four games. 67’s goaltender Danny Battochio started in net for Ottawa’s three victories against Barrie this season.

Ottawa 67’s playoff ticket prices for the duration of the Ontario Hockey League playoffs will be $15.00 for adults, $14.00 for students and seniors and $10.00 for children 12-years old and under.
