The 2013-14 Alternate Captains Named

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the Alternate Captains for the 2013-14 season:

Joseph Blandisi, Ryan Van Stralen and Taylor Fielding were selected by their team mates to wear the official letters of leadership as Alternate Captains.  The club, in a discussion that included Sean Monahan, decided to postpone naming a captain until Sean's situation with Calgary sorts itself out.

In making the announcement, coach Chris Byrne said "We look forward to these three guys leading our young guys and showing them the great example of how to do things the right way on and off the ice."

All three were honoured to have been selected by their team mates.  But as Ryan noted, the leadership is not about who gets a letter.  "There are other guys in the room who could have easily been here today." and he mentioned Brett Gustavsen, Brendan Bell as two examples.  The three young men also stated how committed the entire team is to meeting the expectations for this season:  get better throughout the year, big point improvement over last year, push for the playoffs, play hard - keep composed.

The team is pumped for the start of the season with a focus on a good start with the early, 5-game home-stand.
